I received 8 separate automated phone calls from different numbers in the 408 area code from Apple Support claiming there had been suspicious activity on my iPod account and that it had been breached. Twice I spoke with an actual person and told them to remove me from their call list but, the calls continue. I don’t know what it is they are after but the calls have continued every 8 minutes or so, each time from a new number so I can’t even block it.
I don’t know what you can do. I wanted to bring it to somebody’s attention.

"Apple Support" keeps calling my grandfather. The man has an Indian accent, he says his name is Brad Hill, he says my grandfather downloaded something. He asked for account numbers. He’s also left several messages asking me to call 669-699-7972.

Received multiple (9) calls from a 408 area code, likely a call center. The automated voicemail claimed to be from Apple Support to inform me that my Apple account had been hacked. To reset my information, each voicemail instructed me to call 208-262-0000. A quick Google search told me that Apple Support will not call you if your account is hacked – they will email you. Don’t call this number back! They will likely try to steal your personal information.

This has now happened to me two weeks in a row. In the late afternoon to evenings, I will receive multiple calls from various separate numbers (last week they came from Washington State/Seattle area, this week from Silicon Valley/California) stating that an Apple device had been compromised, and I needed to call back to the support number right away.
I did answer one of the calls just to see where it went last week–it had an official sounding recording, with a menu to talk to a tech support person. I pressed 1, and was directed to someone with heavily accented English, who sounded as if they were calling from a crowded call center. It did *not* sound like what you normally get when you call Apple support. The person told me that my IP address had been compromised by a hacker, and that they need me to log on to my device. I asked them which device. They repeated that my IP address had been violated. I said "yes, but which one, a phone, a computer, an iPad, which device?" And they said computer, and asked me to boot it up. I told them that this sounded odd to me, and i asked if there was a way I could verify that they were indeed with Apple. He said James Lee and then had me search in the service support bar for "James Lee", which did come up with some old support topics, and he told me to write down the CVE 2019-8570 code. I did, but then I just didn’t feel comfortable proceeding. This didn’t seem to me like a correct way to verify that this was apple support—any smart hacker or scammer could have easily made up that they were James Lee and they had this code. I told him that I did not feel comfortable proceeding and that I was hanging up. I did not receive any emails from Apple Support informing me of any breach, which is usually what happens if a new device signs on somewhere, etc.
Last week (08/12/20), the calls I received were happening every 15 minutes, with the same Robocall voicemail, between the hours of 5pm and 9pm. Today (08/18/20), they began at 4pm CDT and have been occurring every 5 to 10 minutes. I have not answered any of them.
Please take these scammers down so I can get some peace! I try blocking their numbers, but they call from different numbers every time.

I found a phone number on the site 1-855-948-3538 I was asked for the all of the card number also my ssn and a picture of my drivers licenses and he told me to downloaded the quick support app. He then had me to except the broadcast recorder so he could assess my phone. I was also asked to open my cash app and try to send money but t was declined. I still didn’t realize what I was doing until after he asked me to go to a Walgreens or Walmart and buy a eBay card put $200 on it and send it to him and he’ll cancel all the transaction and I wouldn’t be done again.. I then told him I’ll call my bank and cancel my card. I feel so stupid I just wasn’t thinking about what I was doing I was just trying to cancel or stop payment o a purchase.

11:42AM MLK Jr. Day Automated call from Apple regarding the security of my iCloud account: An Indian answered. I asked for him to prove he was from Apple Support. He directed me to Apple.com and told me to compare the number showing on my phone with the number there. He asked for my email address so he could send a confirmation email with the Apple logo and code. The email address on the printout did not show an Apple.com email address. There was background noise of a call center. He had me download Team Viewer so he could look at my computer. He opened the Terminal and typed in a program. The results of the program was a long list of foreign IP addresses with a connection to my computer. The results were high in scare tactics and mentioned SpyEye. He opened Amazon and Target and talked about how a $100 Xbox card had higher security and told me to buy it but that no money would come out of my account. This was to secure my email accounts. He went to a website with a USA logo with an eagle’s head and brought up an FBI pic of a hacker named Nicolai. He got my IP address and copied and pasted it into a text document and asked for the number on my modem. He asked me what was connected to my WiFi and recorded those as devices that need to be secured. He said that I was experiencing an IP address network hacking issue. The man said they weren’t authorized to talk with him and that anything I said out loud could be heard by the Russian hacker, but my husband threatened to call the police. My husband asked if changing the IP address would fix everything, and the man said the underlying static address wouldn’t change, which my husband knew was false. My husband said that we should call Comcast. He told us to go to the nearest Safeway to buy a Target card. We got in the car and were away from my apartment for about 20 minutes with Team Viewer still open. My husband parked the car and called the number on my caller ID, which went Apple’s accessibility TTY phone line.

I’m getting repeated robo-calls from "Apple Support," telling me "your iCloud account has been breached." The four phone numbers above were just the last four callers listed, from today. The volume of the calls constitutes harassment. I don’t want my phone ringing constantly, and I don’t need messages filling up my voicemail box with these phony dire warnings. My wife works from home and has been exasperated by this, over and over.
As I’m typing this, my phone is ringing again. It’s the 610 area code number listed above. It’s infuriating.
They want money, of course. I don’t answer their calls, so I can’t list a figure below, for how much they’re trying to scam us for.
Is there any way to track down who’s using these numbers and have them prosecuted for fraud? I hope so. Thank you.

I had a robo caller call me saying they were from apple support and someone had got into my account and attempted to make a $495 charge. They then asked if I had any messages on my phone about a password reset. I checked my phone and there was a pop up that asked if I will allow password reset. I clicked “don’t allow” and the pop up came back one more time. I again clicked “don’t alllow.” This made the calller very believable until he tried to get me to download some kind of software in my settings search bar. I told him I was hanging up and calling apple. Then I researched and found it was a scam and there were no charges to my apple account. The caller had an accent like he was from India.

Scammer called our elderly mother claiming to be Apple Support. He stated her I Phone had 79 hackers in China and Russia. He told her to get rid of the hackers he needed her to purchase 2 $500.00 Target gift from a specific location. He then instructed her to provide the number on the back of each gift card. He told her that she would need to take the gift cards into the Apple Store and they would reimburse her. He then told her this got rid of 2 of the scammers. He told her not to tell anyone. This was repeated multiple times over an approximately 36 hour period. She purchased 29 Target gift cards at $500.00 each for a total of $14,500.00. When I spoke with her the next morning and learned what was happening we filed a report with the local police. Of note she used one credit card that put a hold on the card after $1000.00 was charged. However the second credit card company (PNC) did not put a hold on the card and allowed these unusual charges for a total of $13,500. We were very disappointed that PNC allowed these alarming purchases to continue. The scammer knew the right words to say to my mother to convince her that he was “helping” her. She was really concerned about the hackers. She reluctantly shared with me because she told me she was going to stop by and see me because she was going to the Apple Store on Monday and I asked her why she needed to go to Apple. This has been an eye opening experience for all of us and we want to share this story to prevent it from happening to others.

I received several calls from this number (408-606-5775) with an automated message stating there was a security breach in my icloud account and to press 1 to be connected to Apple Support. I did and the call was answered by a man who asked if I was traveling this week (which I was) and if I had been in Michigan or Texas. I had not been to either of those states. He asked if I had downloaded any apps (I had downloaded an airline app). He then asked which device I usually use to access my icloud account. I said my phone. He said he would need me to login to my icloud account on my computer so he could remotely access my computer and the threat. That’s when I got suspicious and said I do not do that when I receive a call and that I would rather lookup the apple support number online and call myself. He said you can see that the phone number is caller IDd as Apple Support (which it was and was why I even picked up the phone). But I was still not comfortable allowing remote access to my computer. After I hung up I googled the phone number and found on this site it was a scam. He even called again as I was reading this information. Pretty bold.

I was looking for the apple customer service line, and came across the number 1-855-522-0787. I was inquiring about a charge that was on my bank statement from iTunes. The man I spoke with sent me an apple ID verification code to "access my account". After that, he said that the charge was from a Soundcloud subscription, that was from a server in Austin. He then told me that my account had been compromised, and that it was being accessed from servers in multiple cities. The cities he named were all locations I have visited in the last 2 years, so I believed him. He told me to call back when I could deal with the issue at 1-800-822-4479. When I called back, he then said that I needed to purchase a $100 iTunes card, and give him the number so that he could use it to disconnect from the server. He assured me that the money would be refunded to my account immediately. I purchased the card at Walgreens, at *** *** *** *** *** **. I then gave him the code. He then said that he could only disconnect from the apple devices, and that I would need to get a $500 Google Play gift card to disconnect from android devices. He also said that it would only do 2, and he needed 2 $500 cards. I said I could only do one. He said that he had a code for the other 2. I again, went to the Walgreens, got the card, and gave him the number. He was then saying it wasn’t working and he needed another. I told him that I had no more money, and could not do that. I then wanted my refund. He then transferred me. That man "Mark Pierce" said he was "working on it". At one point he said that he did refund the $100 to my account, and it would be there in 15-20 minutes. I stayed on the line for a very long time. He then said that I needed to give them another card for $500, or I got nothing. I said no, and said that I was driving to the apple store, because this felt like a scam. He said that it was not, and asked if I could borrow the money from anyone. I then said that I wanted my money back now, and he hung up on me. I had been on the phone for 1 hour and 11 minutes. I called back multiple times, and the continually hung up on me. All men had east Indian accents.

I stupidly game them access to my computer, so I could see that they had my SS number, bank ID name and various passwords. I have received numerous phone calls from an automated calling system saying there is suspicious activity on my iCloud account. It gives a phone number to call them back (646)217-4814. I have returned their calls four times in hope of getting my name removed from their calling list. Every time I call I get the same foreign speaking guy and when I ask to speak to a supervisor he states that he is a supervisor. So each time I call I try to explain to him that I do NOT own an apple device and that I do NOT have an iCloud account. He tries to get personal information from me and when I keep telling him my situation, all he does is tell me to hang up the phone then. This is getting ridiculous and in my opinion borders on harassment.

I have gotten over 8 phone calls in the past week claiming to be from “Apple Support” and that my Apple account has been compromised. It starts as a “robo call” and then a live person will come on and argue that they really are from Apple. The calls come from Pennsylvania, Florida, and New York.

I called this number because my iPad wasn’t charging. I was told Because my iPad was not quite two years old I would receive a new iPad but I had to go to the nearest Safeway store and spent $200 to buy Apple support(?). The person on the phone wanted me to go right then and there and he would stay with me while I went to the store. It sounded fishy to me so I said no thank you.

Consumer thought Apple support and they told her she would need to buy an Itune card for $50.00 because her account had been hacked. Customer was told to scratch off the card while she was still on the phone. Customer was told that she would get her $50.00 refunded. But that doesn’t happen. The person on the phone sounded foreign.

I received several phone calls from what appeared as Apple Support in the caller id of my home phone. A gentleman(not American speaking) claimed that my IMac computer had been hacked due to online shopping. I had not used the IMac since December; the person on the line accessed my EBay account which I have not used in over a year. Wanted me to update the address, but I said no use to do that since I was going to close the account. Then proceded to pull up Amazon and wanted me to log in. I closed that account months ago as I was receiving very odd packages that I had not ordered. My home phone cut him off after about 30 minutes, but he called back; I was not agreeing to any of the stuff going on in this call.

I received several calls from various out of state numbers that I did not recognize therefore I did not answer them. A couple of messages were left for me to return their call and the message stated that they were calling from apple support and that my iCloud account had been breached. After calling them they asked me to get on my laptop so they could remote onto my computer and try to help block the individuals from"Turkey,China and Russia" out of my iCloud. While speaking to the scammers. They asked me to run a scan on my computer while they were remote in. While scanning in they had access to my IP address and were very inquisitive of on line banking, pay pal, and on line banking. The battery to my laptop died and I quickly realized this was a scam and hung up on them.
The following numbers are the numbers that called me.

"Molly" from "Apple Support" called me 7 times yesterday to tell me our iCloud had been breached. I finally got annoyed enough to stay on the line until a human answered and then I told him that I have a special set of skills and I will find you if you call here again:) So far "Molly" hasn’t called back.

I received an email from supposedly Apple support requesting the following:
It has come to our attention that your Billing Information records are out of date and requires you to update your Billing Information.
Failure to update your records will result in account termination.
Continue to your account. There was a link proved in the email here.
I contacted Apple directly and they indicated this was a scam phishing for credit card info as they would never provide a link in an email.

So I called back, the second guy when into this whole speal saying that my IP Address has been hacked and I need to down load some itunes software. I do not own an Iphone or ipad or anything, in which I told them so, but he insisted. I told him this doesn’t seem legit and I would not be proceeding and hung up.I don’t know if it is a scam, but it sure as hell felt like one.

I googled apple tech support phone number online (800) 604-94-12 and spoke to what was suppose to be an apple support rep., I was attempting to get support with "fine my phone" app. I was told i needed to purchase a $100.00 Itune card from Rite-Aid, something didn’t sound right so i called at&t and had them transfer me directly to apple support, once connected i explained to them what was discussed with what was suppose to be an apple rep. and gave them the name, ext number, and case number of which the true apple rep did not recognize as any numbers affiliated with apple. I call back and spoke to the scam artist and told i purchased the $100.00 itune card (which i didn’t) and he requested i do a scratch-off on the back and give him the card number. I terminated the call after that in a non professional way!!!

I have been getting calls with a recorded message every day saying that my Apple iCloud account has been compromised and not to use my apple product until I talk to them by pressing "1" or calling a phone number (I did not right down the number). I contacted Apple support myself and they say that they would never contact customers via a recorded message if there was a problem.

If someone calls you from this number, do not pick up. They claim to be with the apple support team, and they ask you for a series of information and tell you that your icloud account has been detected with "suspicious activity" and they need to secure it for you. Do not provide them with any information, I found it odd so I reached out to apple support, and that is not one of their numbers.
