My elderly parents received 13 telephone calls in a single day from representative saying they were Apple iCloud representative and the iCloud account had been corrupted and to stay on the phone to speak to a representative. I was at their home visiting and answered two of these calls. I spoke to the supposed representative and told them my parents had never owned a computer in their 80+ years of life and to quit calling. Additionally, I followed up by calling Apple’s iCloud help center to ensure that Apple did not have incorrect information and was truly trying to reach someone via a landline number. Apple’s representative confirmed my assessment that it was a scam phone call and that Apple only interfaced with customers via login to their Apple product.
