Total money lost $30
Type of a scam Tech Support
There was a security alert on my mother’s computer, it asked her to call 1 844-222-0252. When she called that accessed her computer and then asked her to overnight a check to them for $400. She mailed a check then contacted me about the situation. I told her to go immediately to the bank and stop the check and change her accounts.
I called them to see what the name of the company was to report it and the number was busy, within 5 minutes they called me back from 1 514-816-3985. They told me their name was On line technical Dept from LA California and they were affiliated with Amazon and Microsoft. The man I spoke with sounded Indian.
This is so upsetting, my dad recently passed and my mom is handling the computer things by herself, she is 72 and doesn’t know much about computers. She panicked and made a poor judgement call because she was scared! I don’t want this to happen to anyone else!

Received a call from someone and I let them take control of my computer. Now I can’t do anything with it. The company was www.anydesk.com.
