I had my car posted on Craigslist and got a text from a guy telling me his sob story about trying to buy a car that was a lemon. He insisted that I would check my VIN for my own car on this website he gave me. I told him no and that was the buyers job to do that. I read up on this website and somebody else posted that they were told to pay $20 for a VIN check from this same website and after they did, they never heard back from the buyer.
Also, Google maps brings up the website’s address to some no name place in Wyoming.
