Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I was a college students selling a room in an apartment on Craigslist. I received an email from [email protected], introducing herself as Ana Patrick, claiming she was interested in my apartment and were going to send me a check for $2500 when the apartment was only $435 a month.
She later emailed me saying she was a graduate student who was doing research in Guam and wouldn’t be back to the states until August 15, so she wanted me to take $2000 and send it to a man in California, who she claimed was the car dealer.
The "car dealer" was identified as Paul Mendoza of 2960 Via Real Apt. 3, Carpinteria, California, 93013.
Once the Check arrived in the mail from Willie Goss Enterprises Inc. it later bounced out of my account within a few days.
Luckily i didn’t do anything with the money so no money was lost on my end but today, 08/12/2016, I received an email from a name named Vic Turner at [email protected], telling me the person was a fraud.
