Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I was contacted via email about a work from home opportunity. There was some poor grammar in the email, but nothing that was seriously alarming at first. A thorough job description was included and information to make it sound pretty legit. I was supposed to receive a new MacBook and the latest iPhone for business purposes. Instead, I got a check – overnighted through UPS – for a random dollar amount. When I was contacted via text, I was instructed to withdraw the funds – as much as I could – then purchase iTunes gift cards in $*** increments. Then I was to scratch off the strip and send a clear photo of the information so the scammer could "forward it to the tech vendors" that were authorized. I was to purchase the cards from Walgreen’s or CVS specifically. Obviously, I did not do any of this I was just seeing how much information I could get out of them. I did search for this company and did not find any scam information. Hopefully, this will help someone else in the future. I kept everything I received and am going to go to the authorities in hopes of doing some small bit of good as a result.
