I received a call a couple months ago from a woman claiming to be from the company gateway center in Newark Nj on the 26th floor, discussing my resume’ and how I am qualified for a security position. Whether I had my sora or not was not an issue. I was told to bring in $150 to start the process. She said the position starts off at $15 an hour and if you had your sora it would be more. The next day I brought in the $150 to the woman’s "manager" he said it was NON REFUNDABLE. The $150 was for registration that I had to give more money. Now I needed $499 to start the process. The manager said the cost was high because I would have lifetime placement. I am now finished with the classes, finger printing and have my certificate and I am having a hard time being employed. As I learned from the "police detective unit" "lifetime placement is illegal" This company and the people are overcharging and scamming people out of their money with fake advertisement and promises. I even contacted the woman that first gave me a call and she didn’t recall of what I was talking about. I have been in touch with my instructor for the sora class I took and he told me that if they are caught they can lose their business license and get into serious trouble. Now this company has moved to 40 Clinton street suite 201 in Newark Nj, 07102. They must be stopped. They prey on vulnerable people that need work.
