Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
Kim says she is from the Consumer Protection Bureau and a Lloyds of London Trustee from the Amercian Company’s Dream Network out of Washington D.C., telling my elderly father-in-law that he has won $850,000 and to claim this prize he needs to send them $1,000.00 for costs. She provided at registration number for herself as well as a secure claim code that my father-in-law needs to use when he dials the telephone number that she has provided. My father-in-law repeated the code back to "Kim" but he gave her one wrong letter as I was listening in on the call, but she told him that he was correct. She told my father-in-law that he needed to contact them back as soon as possible as he was in the cancellation department for his award since he never responded back to a supposedly letter sent to him from a previous time, or if he preferred he could pay her the $1000.00 over the phone to her immediately. He told her he would like to wait to check things out. I called Kim’s personal number that she left as well as the 855 number for my father-in-law to call and no live person ever answered, just an answering machine.
