Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
I received a letter from AM-Capital One Publisher Reward Sweepstakes Inc. P.O. Box 29502, Las Vegas, NV. 89126-9502. There were two phone numbers 647-640-1834 and 403-630-1297. I called the number and left a message for MICHAEL SIMITH, Chief Operation Officer. The letter stated that there was a small error in regards to my prize winnings in the amount of $975,000. US. They said they had two different zip codes on file for my residence and one was returned to their head office. They said the letters contain a check and the other letter was an introductory and explanatory letter regarding my prize amount. Due to the error their firm decided to hold my prize winnings to make sure that they were paying the rightful recipient. Therefore they will be sending all my prize winnings vie FedEx or UPS. In addition to this Mr. Michael Simith my legal representative said that I needed the money so they were sending a check enclosed in the amount of $9,180.44. Mr. Michael Simith soon called me back and asked my to deposit the check and call him back so they can start the process of getting the rest of my funds.
