Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Offered my son a work from home job on 3-11-19, he received a $3900 check on 3-12-19 by FedEx asking him to go deposit check and use to buy materials for the job. The person that was supposedly interviewing him on Hangout app was [email protected] I called the bank on the check to verify and was told that account was closed. When asked for a phone # to call and speak to someone, they provided 717-742-4127 but all I got was a voicemail. My son is deaf so doing an interview thru messenger is not uncommon, glad I caught this before he put it in his bank.
