Type of a scam Government Grant
I received a text message from a friend that even had her photo on the message. It asked if I received my money from the DHHS yet. I said I didn’t know anything about it. The message gave me an address to a website that said I might be qualified for federal grant money the Department of Health and Human Services was giving to retired people to help them. They asked for my name, address, email, phone number and birth date. Like a fool, I give them that info to see if I qualify for the money. Then they send me an official entry form where if I send in $500 they would send me $500,000. That is when I knew it was a scam. Now they have all my personal information and who knows what they will do with that information. I didn’t see it coming fast enough to stop. Don’t let them get your personal information.
