Type of a scam Online Purchase
Found Bird on online website. Made contact and eventually paid through wire transfer $1390.00 for bird and flat rate shipping of 190.00 included in the purchase price. Once they received payment, they told me I would need to pay an additional $880.00 for some special shipping which was highly recommended. I declined and they stated it was now required. I offered to drive down and personally pick it up and they declined demanding it be shipped for $880.00 more. They then said they would cancel the purchase but would take more than 1/2 of purchase price for their trouble. I told them the failure was on their part and I would accept nothing less than a full refund of $1390.00 or I would notify authorities. They replied that now I will get no refund "my friend" and they threatened me and my family if I were to pursue any further action. I have notified Federal Trade Commission and FBI internet crime division. Supposed located in Troy/Montgomery Alabama but Local police say phone numbers not associated with any one there.
