I was sent a pop up of the picture posted below. My computer was completely frozen and locked. I called the number and spoke with a foreign man. They answer the phone as Microsoft company. He got me to "share" my computer screen and went through several steps. He was circling with a red marker things that looked "official". He asked if I had protection and then said that I had a trojan virus…he highlighted it on the computer screen. He then asked if I shop online or do online banking. He said my passwords and online banking have been compromised and I need to buy a $250 protection plan because I only had a generic one. I told him I didn’t feel comfortable with purchasing something without my husband seeing it. He asked to be transferred to my husband. I told him he was working and he said then make sure he calls us as soon as he returns home as our banking information is compromised right now.
