Type of a scam Yellow Pages/Directories
Called and spoke to member of the house to tell about product. Suddenly we received an invoice for $750 for a so called listing on their website (a site that nobody uses and doesn’t come up in the first few pages of a google search). Phone calls chasing for the money ongoing for a year now. I spoke to somebody once and told them I thought they were a fraud and they hung and now keep calling and leaving messages threatening our credit history.
Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill
City Business Listings in Montreal called me to ask if I wanted to renew my ad in their listings. I told them I didn’t remember ever hearing of them. They assured me I had. I expected to receive a book and was told it would be sent out across my community. I received an invoice and a usb stick. Told them this isn’t what I expected or "agreed" to and returned the "product". Got a call demanding payment. I refused to pay. A couple weeks later got a call offering to reduce the invoice by 50%. I still refused to pay. A week or two later got a call from a different individual telling me he was cancelling the whole thing. Received another threatening phone call today stating if I didn’t pay they would start proceedings against me. I spoke with my lawyer and local RCMP office and both advised me not to pay. RCMP told me to block their number.
