Type of a scam Charity

An individual was busily putting out these pink bags on all mailboxes in my neighborhood today, June 29, 2018. I remembered ScamPulse.com and TV news reports from a few years ago about this fraudulent charity. As I was driving out of the neighborhood, I stopped and asked the young man if he had the required Lic permit required bt our city to solicit charitable donations. He did not know what I was referring to and stated he was hired to just put these bags out.

I was gone about 2 hrs and the entire area had been blanketed with the pink bags. A card attached to the bags stated that filled bags should be placed outside your home by 7 am on the day of pick-up; fill out the attached card to receive a tax receipt; area pick-up would be returning on Monday, 7-02-2018.

I volunteer for a legitimate nonprofit organization and realize how precious donations are & that they are crucial to the life of both the organization as well as those who are benefiting from them. Scam charities hurt everyone. I plan on notifying the BBB, my city officials and all my neighbors.
