Someone called my with a heavy accent from "Consumer Services of Visa and MasterCard" saying they can lower my interest rate. They asked me to verify the expiration date on the card, to which I did. They did not ask me my name or address for identifiers. They then said "Here you are, the card begins with a number 8?" and I said "no", and he said "Oh, here it is, it begins with a 2?" and I said "no". Then I started to question things, and he said "Ma’am I understand your hesitation but just give me 1% of your trust". That’s when I knew it was false, so I hung up. I contacted CapitalOne and they issued me a new card – no damages.

Type of a scam Credit Cards

I was called by a man named James from "Consumer Services of Visa and MasterCard. They say they have been trying to reach me about the MasterCard I owe money on. They say they can reduce my interest rate so that I can pay it off sooner. He asked me to give him my card number, I told him I didn’t have my card with me (I don’t actually have a MasterCard) . He asked me to call him back at 8042259490. After I asked if he could verify the number they already have on file, he said if I just give him the exp date, they can go from there. He says they work with Experian and that’s how they can get my card number.
