Gentleman by the name of Matt Stokes called and I was told he was needing $325.00 payment for an advertisement that my business runs in a local Visitor’s Guide in Nebraska. He wanted to go over all personal information about my business in the ad and needed the payment taken care of over the phone with him. (he had my husband’s name, page numbers of ad, etc.) When I told him that I had already talked to the local salesperson who sold me the ad, he insisted that payment needed to be made with him over the phone. He assured me that the local salesperson that sold me the ad was sitting "2 desks down" and I couldn’t talk to her because she was on the phone. I asked for his information and he told me his phone # to be reached was 844-625-4909. I have talked to the local saleswoman and the advertising staff that sold me the ad and they have NO connection with this person or their business…..and was told not to talk to these people and not to send any type of payment. I am very concerned that this person/business is calling all of the advertisers in this guide and scamming them out of money as well. I was also told that if a person says "yes" to any question asked over the phone…(for example: are you Amy? "yes") they can edit it to another question and you will be liable to pay for services?
