Type of a scam Credit Cards
A man called a local grocery store and said he was the “IT” man and he needed inventory for certain homedepot gift cards. He made the lady on the phone scratch off the back of the cards and give him the information. He then said he was going to replace credit card machines in the grocery store and he was coming the next morning. He claimed his name was Jeremy Miller. He gave the employee a “ticket number” and “reset code” to sound official on the phone. He was very persistent. He assured the employee that the gift cards were being discontinued and that’s why he needed the numbers on the back of the card.
