Well, I read the reviews here AFTER making business with these guys. I was shocked I thought I lost my money ($749.99). I called them back and asked to refund me back. I gave the reason that I read the reviews and those are terrible and that’s making me worried and not to trust on you. A lady convinced me to trust them for just 4 weeks and they will give me the results and she proved me and these reviews wrong. My listing has came on the first page of google and that also in first 3 results.
Looks like you either “work” for them, or you are gullible. This is 100% a scam. DO NOT TRUST THIS REVIEW
Hello,
In December 2019 I received a phone call from a person I could not understand who did not speak good english. Basically they had found my business online and what I got out of that conversation was that they had internet advertising to offer and that I was going to look over the package and see if I wanted to proceed. Our business had started up a few months before so I looking into various advertising options which is why I agreed to look into their offer
I sooner received another phone call confirming my address and where to send the info, still from a person who english is not their first language. I am from UK where we get a lot of phone calls similar from foreign call centers and that is why I was ok with them sending me the info to look at.
Fast forward to January 3rd when my lawyers office sent me the invoice this company had sent from my phone call with them for almost $700. I emailed the company straight away and told them I was not interested and to cancel what ever they had done, which was basic info of my business (just address and contact number.) I received a call straight way stating I had to pay the invoice so once off the call i researched the company further to find a number of people had been dupped into this scam as well. I emailed them again explaining I had not signed anything or had been made aware of anything before this invoice and that I was not paying.
After that email I never received any further correspondence or phone call until 21 July 2020 stating the invoice is still unpaid. The lady then called me again on 23 July playing me back the last telephone conversation I had confirming my details. I reitterated that this is a scam and that I would not be paying. They have blamed Covid 19 for the delay in getting back to me which is a lie as Covid did not affect Canada back in early January. Apparently now she is passing my “case” onto her supervisor.
I have threatened legal action as well with them but I want to lodge a formal complaint about this company. They are not legit and there are numerous complaints online about how they go about business and harass people for money.
This is a known phone book scam and these people need to be made accountable. I also want this harassment to stop. I will not be paying them anything.

Initial phone call said the company had been doing advertising for us for the past year and our invoice was due. We did not sign anything for them to advertise for us. When asked to pay over the phone we requested they send an invoice over email and in the mail. Both invoices had different names and addresses.

Call started by confirming our business information, address, phone number for directory. Were then told at the end of the call that we would now receive an invoice and copy of the listing agreement.

In early 2018, this company contacted us and presented themselves as "Yellow Pages" and wanted to confirm our address. They than went on to ask us if we wanted to renew our services and that we would be billed the same annual amount for services. We than received an invoice in the mail for the amount of approximately $800 from surprise surprise: Canadian Business Phone Book along with a weird micro-chip device that we destroyed and disposed of. We contacted the company by phone to confront them about their activity, that we would not pay the invoice, that we had declared the incident to the FTC (Federal Trade Comission) and that we did not want to be contacted by them anymore. They called us back, trying to threaten us with segments of the initial recorded conversation and that they would send our debt to a collection agency and affect my credit score, they were rude and aggressive. In the summer of 2018, a ”Collection agency" called (with a Victoria,BC phone number) to collect debt, which I refused to pay. I did not receive any phone calls in 2019. It is now January 2020 and I am once again being contacted by this company, receiving approximately 4 times per day a call from a private number with no ID. I just wish they stopped calling our number!
Their office "address" is a mail box in a post office in Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Quebec.

My boyfriend received a phone call in the Fall of 2019 from this company. They asked for details of what the company did and for him to confirm that this was the correct phone number for the business. He provided our business email address for further communication and we received a hard copy invoice in the mail, to our home address – which we do not advertise, anywhere. At no point in time did my boyfriend agree to have our information posted on their website, nor for a fee. These types of decisions would ultimately be made by both of us, and any advertisements or payments thereof, would be handled by myself. At no point in time did I approve or otherwise engage with them to list our business or advertise for us. No contract was signed, ever. No approval was provided to list our personal home address on their website. I have sent multiple emails requesting, and then demanding, that this information be removed immediately, as approval was never provided. No one has replied to any emails, nor has the listing been removed.

Sent us a bill for a service we did not request. They claimed they were doing search engine optimization for us, yet we don’t have a website.
Pretended they were From Yellow Pages. No one ever returned my calls after I received an invoice. They claim they have a recording of one of the staff on the phone approving the service, however they have not been able to produce such recording. They are billing us $787.49 and threatening third party collection action. Not once has any representative shown us the ‘work’ done on our behalf. Complete and total scam. Be very careful with these scammers.

We received a fake invoice stating that it was a past due invoice and to contact them "immediately to ensure your account does not escalate to third party collections". When calling to inquire about it the lady was very unprofessional, rude and just seemed like a scam. Could not provide us with proof of advertising, or any services. The more I googled, the more I seen it come up as a scam.

The "Canadian Business Phone Book" contacted us and said they needed some info to update our ad with them, the info was given (the person thought the office manager had set up the account) then we received an invoice. I then proceeded to contact the company and say we had never set up an account to advertise with them and that we would not be paying the invoice, the ad is not accurate our scope of work is not even close to what we do, I said I was aware this was a scam and I would be reporting it. She then proceeded to say she was reporting us to the better business bureau for slander.

This scammer is sending invoices saying we owe them money for a listing in canadian phone book. They said it was complimentary to begin with and then we agreed to it and now sending invoices from 2 years ago wanting over $700. They keep phoning. When you try to call the number on the invoice its a recording with no company name and that their lines are all busy and to leave a message with your invoice number and phone number and someone will call you back. The address on the bill is not our mailing address it is the address of where our office is.

1st they call your company out of the blue, they have sourced the company number from a website, google or yellow pages. The caller asks the answering person if they have authorizing capabilities for the company then they ask for the person to verify the company address — the caller is looking for the word yes from you as many times as they can get it so they can splice together a recording of you authorizing the purchase of their services. They never ask you if it is ok if they record the phone call (for quality insurance or anything).
2nd phone call, company caller insist you signed up for their listing & SEO optimization services 3 to 6 months earlier for a 2 two year contract (for us it was 6 months, they are counting on the fact there will be a vague remembrance of the 1st phone call). Caller says your invoice hasn’t been paid and your account has gone into credit recovery where it is accumulating late fees and will remain there until you pay in full. Caller is expecting you to dispute their claim and readily has the doctored recording of company personnel authorizing the purchase of their service.
No invoice, contract paperwork, mail, or email was ever sent to your company prior to this 2nd call. This company sends everything after this 2nd call because you just provided an email address. This company claims they are a service like the real Yellow Pages, but because our company actually subscribes and advertises with Yellow Pages – I can attest they do not conduct their client interface or collaboration anything like Yellow Pages.
After this 2nd call you get an email with their website and your supposedly listing which is your company name and basic company address. They also try and say they have setup a facebook page for your company (already had one – not interested), a company blog site (if interested- would have added a blog page to our Company website on our own) etc. …..however when you go and check these items out they just cut and pasted empty Facebook login and the blog is either information they cut & pasted from your website or your true "Yellow Page" ad.
Their website, where your listing is put, basically crashes everytime you try to toggle from their home page, service page, about page, contact page.
The invoice they sent us was an image a .jpg file not a .pdf file. The QSTnumber provided on the invoice was a valid number but belonged to a Quebec numbered company with a completely different company trade name and upon my research that company deals in residential property – nothing with company listings or SEO optimization. They also listed a GST number which I will phone the CRA to verify.
This company uses extremely shady business practices listed above – stay away.- don’t ever say the word yes to any question asked from a company you don’t know or deal with, especially if they are calling you for any kind of verification.
Type of a scam Credit Cards
I received a call saying the owner of the company (used his full name) owed invoice #___ and if I could please get it cleared up and that they accepted credit cards. I explained that I did not know anything about the invoice and requested a copy. I received that copy promptly and well as a follow up call making sure I received it and asking for payment again. They called again the next morning and the same lady whos’ name is Gloria, spoke to a different person and asked a few questions and that was it. She was told to call back as I was not in the office. She did call back in a couple of hours asking again for payment. I told her after speaking to the owner we did not ask for these services and were not going to be paying the bill. She said she had a recording authorizing the services. She played the recording and all they did was take take the previous persons conversations and record his yes answers and imput them into a recording! He never spoke to anyone asking those questions!!! Now they are sending emails into our website and threatening collections. A horrible SCAM and a true headache!!!!

Canadian business phone book, phoned my spouse while he was at work. The phone call stated he needed to renew with the phonebook . Our upcoming yellow page subscription was coming due, therefore he continued on. Once we received a card and document in the mail we realized we needed to provide our credit card, yet we have never even heard of this company. We emailed and stated we did not want to proceed. Yet they stated we already have a bill of 700+ dollars. They call everyday stating they are sending us to collections. Yet are unable to provide a location in which our "advertisement" can be seen.

This company randomly sent my business an invoice along with a plastic card with, what looked like, a usb type attachment, which, by the way, never worked. Then about a month later, they.contacted me out of the blue regarding the invoice that they sent when I have never heard of them, never contacted them and especially never hired them to put my information on their website. They pressured me to pay for the invoice and being a new business owner, I was completely unsure about these kind of situations. Unfortunately, I never consulted with my common law boyfriend about this, as I am the sole owner and operator, and I paid for it. I didn’t realize till 6 months later, that this was a scam as another company, that I never heard of, continued to contact me about the same thing, requesting money. I almost did the same thing and luckily this time I consulted with my boyfriend who informed me that these two companies are a scam. They have the exact same website other than the company logo and they changed the color of the website. I will be posting shortly about the other company. Don’t trust them!! Always consult with other people that you do trust if you are unsure!!

The individual claimed to be confirming my business information requesting me to purchase her advertising immediately for a 10% discount if paid over the phone. She was told i didnt do any business over the phone send the details in the mail. An invoice arrived registered mail 3 days later for over $800. No they’ve called 12 times this week claiming collection threats.

Someone called me to confirm my business address and phone number. A few weeks later I had to sign for a package at the post office. It was a digital card from Canadian business phone book. A few weeks after signing for the unknown package, I received a bill for $800. I called to ask what the bill was about. They explained that I signed up for the service and me signing for the package was proof of that I agreed to the charges. I never signed up or agreed to anything. They said they had proof of me agreeing to it in our original phone call. They continued to harrass me by phone to pay the bill. I sent back the digital card and invoice. They still continue to harass me. I blocked the different numbers they were using to threaten me with collections. Now they call from blocked numbers. They are very rude and persistent. I’ve told them to take me to collections as they have nothing of me agreeing to this service.

They phone (and record your call) telling you that they are the only ones who can advertise your business effectively. Once you make the mistake of confirming your address (without agreeing to any purchase), they use the recording for fraudulent purposes. They invoice you, then when you don’t know what the invoice is for, they call and harass you. Then they play back what sounds like you saying yes to the purchase, but be careful, this is a cut and paste of the recording when you confirmed your address. If you ever make the mistake of paying an invoice you will never get rid of them. I have faxed in writing for them to leave us alone, we are not responsible for their fake invoices. Then they phone and yell/harass you to no end. I told them "IF" we have agreed to anything and they are in fact a credible company, then they should have a signature on file stating our agreement in acceptance of their invoice/product. I think their intent is to frustrate people to just pay the stupid invoice (which is usually small enough that it’s not a big deal), but that is a HUGE mistake because they will never leave you alone. And they will double charge your credit card.
