Claiming to be Savet IT

Tiffany – Aug 27, 2020

I received the exact same mail from a man claiming to be from Savet. His name was David Schwab. He contacted me through Wono, a freelancing website. He offered me a data entry job, just like that. I am a technical writer and never have done any data entry. There was no company website and the man had a yahoo mail account instead of a company email ID. So, I refused to proceed.

Type of a scam Employment

I remember seeing the job posting online but don’t remember applying. Got an email saying to report to google hangouts to talk to the hiring person. Being told I would be paid 25/hr for a data entry position (having that be something I’m good at and currently being unemployed, I took the bait). After answering all the questions, I get offered the position and then they wanted my name, address, phone and email. They wanted to send me a giant list of computer equipment along with scannners and a plethora of other things along with a Check. The check was to be deposited (and was requested to be deposited via ATM, or online) so I could keep the “$100 sign on bonus” and pay the people who were sending the computer equipment. After confronting the individual about it being a scam, she told me I could leave and that no one was keeping me there and when I told her she just sold herself out as a scammer she said “[censored] you” and stopped replying.
