Type of a scam Debt Collections
On 1/3/17, I received a phone call from the county clerk’s office from a Mr. Brown. He shared that there was a warrant that would be issued for my arrest unless I could make an arrangement. He then gave me a number to call and make arrangements. I spoke to Kyle Lawson who informed me that I had broken agreement with the court the month before. I had done this in fear that I was being scammed after trying to reach my case manager and/or anyone that could legitimize the claim and answer why the debits from my account were not as agreed. After falling for his scare tactics and making arrangements and having $115 debited from my account, I realized that it is the same "firm" that I felt was scamming me previously. The following day I called the number that Mr. Brown had called from, which I had my wife confirm while I was on the phone with the firm the day before, which was the county clerk, 766-8100. The 4 people I spoke to in the clerk’s office did not know of any Mr. Brown and did not find any legal information on the charge in which I had paid. I am going to have to cancel my debit card again and pursue legal action against these people.
