Type of a scam Employment

The company Boston Consulting Group based out of Chicago (and other areas) claimed to have offered me a job. I was asked to take a test, when I googled the questions they were taken directly off of the Internet (I began to be suspect). I was offered offered a job where I was able to choose my position and hours I wanted to work with an outstanding salary (suspicion # 2). We would only have contact via chat/email (suspicion #3). He sent me a check within 48 hours of being hired (suspicion # 3) for #9,760. This was key, a check for under $10,000 so if I too it to my bank I would not have to complete any paperwork for the IRS as it is under $10,000 (suspicion #4), the funds were supposedly for supplies. I googled the person I was corresponding with and all I could find was a Linkedin page but no other information on the others that I was in contact with. I ended all communication with these people on Monday 2/22/16. This is defiantly a scan

I got texted by this Boston Consulting Group. There were many words spelled wrong, everything was too good to be true, and it was especially fishy that they wanted me to buy a lot of software before I got training- they said I’d have to buy it from their manufacturer.
