Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received a check for $2480 in the mail today to become a Mystery Shopper. It looked to good to be true so I begin reading the fine print with all the instructions and then decided to look up the bank name on front of check "BCB" which is a legit bank b6 the way. CHECK look suspect because there is no address info on it. I called the bank gave the lady the account # and the check was infact FRAUD. I tried the phone number on the check (940) 463- 8922, so I could let whomever know I was reporting them but the # was disconnected. There is an email address with the supicious instruction and the many steps with " my" job description listed as: [email protected] I decided not to email that address, because if they are scammers they mightcontaminate my phone or computer somehow. This is disgusting and had an older person or younger person gotten these it could have created a catastrophe. I thank God for the discernment of the Holy Spirit – I followed my heart please throw ALL checks you get in the mail that appear to be " fishy" away. Always check with the bank before cashing anything to make sure it’s valid. If it’s the weekend – wait until the next business day, that is how they try to get u on the weekend. I would have not taken to my bank anyway, I would have taken to another source to see if it could really be cashed.
