Type of a scam Identity Theft
This is not only identity theft, the scammer lets you know that your name is on a list that may still have access to a money allotment. It says they are helping people financially. As per what I thought was my friends advice I got in touch with Jennie to see if I was still on the list as my friend had seen it there. (of course all along this was the scammer talking to me). We got as far as my filling out a form, did not give much infor, just where I lived and age.
They sent me a notice showing what I could claim and what I needed to send in order to claim the money, approx. 10% of the prize. I noted that the Gate did not have an "s" at the end and googled the Bill Gates Foundation finding that this was indeed not that. I really got suspicious when the messges from Messanger did not seem to sound like my friend, spelling, etc. I then emailed my friend and she confirmed it was a spam.
