Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
I received a message on messenger from one of my friends, even had her picture on it, saying she’s asking me how I was doing. I preceded to tell her about what was happening in my life and then she told me she won $120,000.00 from the Publishers Clearing House who are helping citizens over 23 years old, retired, disabled and old in the United States. She gave me a name/agent, Bill Herd, and a phone number, (614) 385-1452 to text and see if I qualify for some money. So of course I texted him, and remember this info came through messenger, with my friend’s picture on it and a friend that I really trust, and of course Bill said I qualify and won $150,000.00, but I had to promise to spend $1550.00 in magazines and gift cards by going to Walgreens. Hey, I know what you’re thinking, how could you be so gullible? I went back and forth messaging to who I thought was my friend but just thought this was to good to be true. So asked my "friend" to answer some questions that she would only know, and the messages I got back were very general. After accusing this person of being a scam she said some things that I know my friend would never say. When I asked to call me she said she would but couldn’t right now. Plus, after I read over some of the messages, her English grammer was not very good. I just couldn’t believe someone could scam on messenger, using a friends picture!!
