Type of a scam Online Purchase
"Purchased" a puppy for $500. plus $140 via Western Union to have is shipped to us. After the puppy was supposedly delivered to the shipping company, the "transportation crate" wasn’t adequate and that would cost $700 (of which 90% would be refunded when the puppy was delivered-which is never was). Next, because of the "delay" in shipping, the puppy would need additional transportation immunizations in the amount of $600 (this was also touted as being refundable upon delivery). The final straw was another demand for $400 because the ‘puppy’ had an allergic reaction to the immunization and need emergency care… With each new demand we couldn’t abandon this poor puppy if it really did exist even though we were suspecting a scam. Along the way we asked for photos of the puppy to prove it was real and actually in route where they said it was but were rebuffed. We finally had to accept the fact that it was a scam when we asked them for the name and phone number of the vet that was supposedly caring for the ill puppy so that our vet could discuss the situation with them. As suspected, we have not heard anything more from them.
