Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
I received a text message that I thought was from my friend in Florida. She told me that the Bush Foundation was giving out money to people that they felt needed it. She asked me if I got my prize. I asked what prize. She told me she received some money from them from Fed Ex. She told me she saw my name on the list when she signed for her money. She gave me the number to call and tell them I was ready to receive my claim. I called them and they told me I would receive $87000. They asked for my address, my name and if I owned my home and told me it would be sent by Fed Ex. Then they contacted me and told me that the truck got stopped by the IRS and I had to pay the $800 to the IRS and they would deliver my money. I went to Walmart and sent the $800 by Walmart to Walmart in Stockton, CA. I didn’t receive the money the next day like they said and I didn’t hear from them for a few hours. I texted them to see what was going on. They told me the fed ex truck had an accident and they sent me a picture of a wrecked fed ex truck and a picture of an injured man in a hospital. She told me the police were involved and they weren’t able to send the check. They told me not to tell anybody. Then they asked for another $1000 to pay the police. I didn’t send the money and I realized it was a scam. They kept calling me and told me she was a Christian and she was honest and I would get my money when they got the $1000. She told me everybody else was paying for their packages. She told me to send the money and she kept texting me. She asked me to borrow the money from somebody else. Then they had my friend to contact me and begged me to send it. I don’t think it was really my friend contacting me. I stopped answering the calls and texts.
