Type of a scam Debt Collections
A letter was sent to my birth address – not where I live anymore – saying I owed $1400 for medical services through Paragon Contracting Services. This is a Florida based company. I live in Chicago, The date of service was 10/30/16. I sent them a letter stating they had the wrong person. Received another debt collector letter. Called them yesterday and the woman on the phone asked for my birth date. When I gave it to her she said they had the wrong person (meaning I received this and not the correct Cathy Edelman) and hung up. Clearly there is fraud here. I need to make sure this debt is not on my record.
