Type of a scam Debt Collections

A company calling themselves ARS called to ask me to pay for a credit card debt for a card closed 9 years ago, a card I did not ever remember having. They threatened to serve me a warrant at my workplace for a suit to collect the debt, offering to reduce it by half if I paid now. I checked with all my prior accounts and there was no record of such a credit card or credit history by name and social security. I called the company back and asked for a copy of the overdue statement they were suing me for and a name and address that I could use for communication. At that point they got huffy and threatening to go ahead and sue. When I said they had the wrong person, they told me my social security number. I finally wanted to see the end of the scam so I asked how I could pay it off, that’s when they only wanted my credit card number. At that point I hung up. They referenced Capital One Bank, National City Bank (now PNC) US Bank. Used names "Simon Broswell" and "Serena"
