Type of a scam Online Purchase
Researching for used cars online, came across a listing and inquired about it, received an email reply from the private seller, the seller sent information about the vehicle for sale and immediately requested a large deposit of the purchase price through international uShip escrow services and threw many other suspicious red flags, did my diligence and research, contacted both www.carsforsale.com where initial ad was posted and www.uship.com to confirm with them that the account names, transaction number, and sender email address were all fraudulent and untrue. No transaction was made however this vicious scammer will continue to prey on others that are less knowledgeable on the matter and I would like to help cease his ongoing future efforts. A vehicle in exchange for monetary funds was offered. I’ve already contacted various security and fraud prevention services to notify and inform them of the scammer’s phishing attempts and provided his contact information in hopes to block him from all other communications and transactions from any other services. There may also be a case for identity theft as he sent me a passport photo with information. He claimed to be from and currently resides in Sweden. I traced his fraudulent website hosting domain to a company called namecheap.com located in the Los Angles area. I can send further information details from our correspondence if needed.
