I never answer a call from a number I do not recognize because the solicitation calls have increased drastically on my home phone and cell phone even though I registered both lines with the Do Not Call service. This caller left the following message which I felt was extremely disturbing and certainly hope others do not fall into this trap.
Caller’s voice message: "We had tried to notify you regarding these issue in previous six months and we had never got a response from you so it has been considered as an intentional fraud and lawsuit has been filed under your name with the United States Government. You may call our department number 256-857-6618, I repeat it’s 256-857-6618 for more information before we download your case into the courthouse. Thank you.
It is my understanding that the government sends information through the mail and does not call cell phones. I therefore, called the ScamPulse.com to speak with a representative who confirmed that this was a scam and suggested I report it on the scam tracker. This individual did not use an individual’s name in the message. It was definitely a recording and was not even grammatically correct.
