Type of a scam Healthcare/Medicaid/Medicare
My wife received a phone call saying that there was a DNA testing service that was paid for by Medicare that would check for any possible health problems that could be detected early by a DNA test. She thought it was legit and sent a sample of her DNA to them. The only contact info she has is their phone # 866-345-7229. She was alerted to the possibility that it was a scam with an email from Medicare . She called
Medicare & they only said that she should look over all her billings to Medicare & let them know if anything shows up. Medicare isn’t going to pay for this testing so it looks like they will bill us for the cost of this testing. The email from Medicare stated that it could be very expensive. We want to know if there is anything we can do to not have to pay this bill if we are actually billed for this testing since it was a false representation . We have not lost money yet but it is a real possibility.
