Type of a scam Employment

The person contacted me through my university email and stated that her husband and her were moving from alaska to the area and needed a babysitter for their 2 children. We spoke a little about what hours Id work and the payment. Then they told me that i needed to fill out a form with my address, phone number, and other contact information. I was then told i would be receiving the job and proceeded to tell me that i’d receive a $3,000 check in the mail to give to a clerk to help get everything settled before they moved. I started questioning them more about what to do and they wanted me to deposit it into my bank account. I new it was a scam and asked what company she previously worked for that was supposedly sending me the money. They refused to answer my question and we hadn’t talked since so i thought it was over. Then i received the check in the mall for the $3,000.
