I received a voicemail out of the blue calling regarding an old debt and was told to call back an 800#. This seemed fishy as I am usually on top of all my bills and pay on time. When I called the number I was given a reference/ account number and transferred to a lady named Chris. Chris told me I owed $601.82 but the company was willing to negotiate a settlement for $250.00. I was also told I had a deadline of November 4 to make the payment or my debt file would be turned over to the courts by November 21. After this call I pulled up my credit report but I had no unresolved debt.
