I had an antique desk for sale on several groups and craigs list. Ashley Cliak responded and she also sent a cashiers cgeck more than twice the agreed amount. It turns out the cashiers check was fake. She wanted me to send a copy of my bank receipr for my account information im guessing.) And her so calked Movers would pick up the antique piece. Im just not sure what she/he thought they could get out of all this. Be aware. Do not accept cashiers checks. And dont meet up with movers. Be safe.

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Respondent from a craigslist ad I posted. They reached out by text posing as a buyer (called themselves Ashley Cloak) for my listed item. Even went as far as to send me a bogus cashiers check via express 1-day USPS. The amount on the check was 3X’s the amount of my listing and they wanted me to give their "Movers" the difference after their check cleared my bank account. HA! I alerted the bank that was listed on the check and they wanted nothing to do with it… then I alerted the local police who had the same reaction as the bank. I guess I’ll frame the check and place it up on my wall of shame.
