Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Received recorded phone message telling me to call the number to cancel or renew a service (that I don’t have)

Once called – told to download software to connect our desktops so that I can complete the "Cancellation form"

The remote desktop would give them access to my entire computer

They would not connect me to customer service by phone or email but demanded I download the software on a PC. I only have a Mac.

Asked them to review my charges and other account information, they couldn’t

Was passed off to two other ‘supervisors’ to convince me to download.

Scammer tried to have me download a software account, an order to cancel a service that supposedly happen 4 years. And wanted to refund the money of 450.00 if I download the software. Scammer could not identify what account they would calling about. So, I did not download the software and hang up the phone.

I had recently purchased computer upgrades, and this company called and stated that some of the upgrades were obsolete, and needed to be upgraded. They were going to reimburse me $500. When I was told to import $500, it came across as $5000 . No they said I needed to reimburse them $4500 but they could not take check or withdraw the money out of my account which they hacked into at my credit union. I was dumb enough to get them $1500 in gift cards and send them the numbers until I realized that this just didn’t seem right. They threatened me, and swore at me saying they were going to empty my complete checking and savings account if I did not send the remaining money. I immediately called my credit union and had my account froze. The credit union states that they probably had a keystroke indicator that was able to read what I typed into the computer to open up my bank account. Even though I screen came up saying it was a secured site when I typed the information in . They were very convincing and persistent but I never heard about a scam that entailed gift cards for repayment. As soon as I heard about the swearing and threatening, I knew something was not right. They all had foreign Indian accents . He even repeated all of my information from my account as the password and username or identical. These foreign people got $1500 of my money. How can I be so stupid

Froze computer screen, listed phone number to contact. (Supposedly connected to Microsoft) Said current Webroot Security system wasn’t catching all of the computer breaches and additional software was needed. I ended up falling for it and lost money. If this happens to you, hang up on them and con tact authorities immediately. Do not give them any banking information or personal info either!
