Type of a scam Online Purchase
A company called Forge Workz that advertises on kijiji and on Facebook sells homemade forges and accessories. They advertise that they are in Annapolis valley and it is a home business run by a retired veteran. I contacted this indivdual by both email and facebook messenger. Everything felt legitimate. The "vet" needed payment up front. I sent him $718.52. was told it would take 2-3 weeks. That was 03 April 2018. It is 21 June 2018 and I have received absolutely nothing. Random responses to over a dozen inquiries and the few replies I received were nothing but excuses. Even going so far to claim his wife had a stroke. That was a month ago. Upon futher investigation i discovered that the exact same scam was done to several other people. They also go by Bob and Sue on different websites that deal with blacksmithing. I requested a refund this week and have not recieved any communication since. A complaint has been filed with consumer complaints Nova Scotia. Beware! This plays on honest people who wish to support local small businesses or who wish to help support retired veterans. I now believe this individual to be a poser with no honour.
