I have had easily a dozen or more calls from this number. Sometimes they offer a lower rate for bundling services. The most recently the scammer said AT&T was switching to digital and something had to be done. Multiple times I requested my options to be postal mailed to me so I could look them over. They had various excuses why they could not do that. Red flag – that is a strange business model. Finally, on a day off I called the real AT&T. Of course, they confirmed my suspicion that the calls were not legitimate. I did not let them talk long enough for them to discuss how to pay. I do not think the amount they wanted was the same every time. The most common amount was $80 monthly for the bundled services.

Received a call from the above number. When I answered, an automated message said that it was AT&T calling and that my cellular account has been suspended to verify my identity. The automated message gave instructions to press 1 to begin the verification process. I hung up because I knew it was a scam, but I’m pretty sure the information that would have been asked for in order to "verify" my identity would have been used to steal my identity.

Received a phone call with all the AT&T information on our direct tv account, I mean everything down to the acct # as well as what we were receiving and our monthly bill. They told me they were offering discounts to loyal customers and when I questioned them about this they told me in detail when, where, how much I had started with on our direct tv acct back 10 years and up to date info. Who wouldn’t believe someone that knew all all of this info. I am a senior citizen so money is always on our mind, they offered me a fixed monthly rate, down substantially to what I was paying but not down to where I even questioned the amount. Then! I was told I had to pay 4 months in advance to get this discount with prepaid cards, still I was willing to help save so I fell for it. Even when I called the number back the AT&T sounds and recordings were exactly as the AT&T recordings are today. Fool me once but only once!!! Never again, we were lucky we only lost a small amount of money compared to some of the others I’ve heard about. Please be aware I am still getting these phone calls about not just direct tv but also our internet and phone service but I block every number when I hear someone’s voice…..BUT…..they still keep calling from other numbers ????

I received a call from AT&T customer service number, 800-288-2020. I answered because I recognized the number. The person stated AT&T was running a special promotion in partnership with amazon. My AT&T uverse bill would be lowered to $89 per month for 24 months if I made a one time payment of $360 today by 6pm. The $360 would be applied against the 1st 4 months of service & I would not have to make a monthly payment until the fifth month. I would also receive a $150 gift card from AT&T. In order to receive the gift card, I needed to purchase an amazon gift card for $360 to pay the one time payment to AT&T. I was then given a promotion code & was instructed to call 888-252-5857. My father-in-law (84yo) received a call from "AT&T Customer Service" on 9/25/2018. The caller stated that he can reduce my FILs monthly phone and TV bill from his current amount (provided to the caller by my FIL) to approximately 2/3 of his current bill. The scam involved paying upfront 3 months of the new amount and then this amount ($89) would be good for a total of 21 months thereafter. This 3-month amount was to be paid with an Amazon gift cart for $270, then call the number back before 9pm that evening with the promotion code provided by the caller along with the gift card activation code number. In addition, the caller also stated that if the offer was accepted my FIL he would receive a $100 gift card. The number provided by the caller was 1-888-302-5632 with promotion code DIV57897. My FIL called his daughter to see if this offer was legitimate. Upon further investigation and a call to AT&T, AT&T confirmed this was not a current promotion and was fraudulent.

I received a call this morning from a lady (Melissa), who said that she was with AT&T and wanted to notify us that our internet had increased and they were lowering our bill. I told her that I didn’t want her to make any changes to our account that she seemed to be a 3rd party company trying to get me to switch my services to their company for billing purposes. They resale AT&T services. I get so many calls like this and I would like to find a way to have them stop calling us.
This is FRAUD – saying that they work for AT&T. She gave me a phone number and an agent ID number, because I wanted to call the number back to confirm her identity. The number she gave is 888-986-8174 ext 1280 (Melissa – MA3727). I called my real AT&T Customer Service number and they confirmed with me that it was not AT&T rep. I googled the number and I found references that lots of other folks have commented about this fraud activity.

Received a call from a fake att checking their customer service, would you refer business and the asked for passcode and would send a credit to your att account for 20 for taking this survey. Upon getting your passcode, they lock up your telephone number several hours later and you have no service.

phony but real looking message from "ATT" asking for last four digits of your social security to update the passcode of the account. ATT never asks for those numbers.

Have received DOZENS of calls from callers "claiming to be AT&T", saying if we don’t change over to their new DSL service by February 20th, then our home AT&T service will be cancelled. The caller claims that "AT&T" has sent numerous letters to our address explaining the details. (I haven’t received any of these letters.) I never respond to these solicitations over the phone, so each time, I ask the caller to send a copy of the letter with all of the details. They never can. They claim that I have to call AT&T’s Customer Service to get a copy of the letter for details. Today, I called the official Customer Service area for the legitimate AT&T company. They said this was a scam. The official AT&T company is not forcing customers nor would they ever force customers to change over to another type of line; otherwise their DSL/other features will be cancelled. Customer Service assured me they would never do this to customers. If you get this call, report it immediately.
