Bought a new Roku from Target- sealed box from a locked case. Activation code did not work. TV screen provided a number to call for a new code. New code was provided. Informed us that Roku had new guidelines in place for extended( four years) or lifetime service for the hardware to hook up to the roku server. We paid for lifetime service, they provided a Docusign for the transaction. They hooked up all our channels & the system worked perfect. Only one problem- Roku will never charge a fee for activation. They sent us recieipts. Next day our family told us that Roku does not charge for activation or subsciptions for it’s basic channels. Only for things like HBO etc. we have cancelled the credit card and replaced it along with our banking password, and reported the scam to the bank.
