Type of a scam Utility
Caller falsely claimed to be with Duke Energy, using phone number 844-415-8215. The scammers called a local ScamPulse.com Accredited Business, claiming they were behind two months on utility bill, owed $600 that had to be paid today, or the power would be cut off. The scammer asked the business to fax a copy of their bank statement, and wanted their bank account number and routing number as the method of payment. Local business suspected a scam, then called the New Albany police and BBB.
