Type of a scam Employment

They initially approached me about a job at their company (no company name). I responded because I do need a job. I received a subsequent letter from a company representative but the email was dinky so my red flag went up. The email received contained an attachment which did not need a lot of my personal information, and I went ahead and filled it out knowing that it may be scam-ish, but I really need a job. I received a call today eight days later and could not answer their call at the time. I called back later. The telephone number just kept ringing–odd for being a business. I said to myself that they may have a land line with no answering machine. Then, I tried their website’s number and they too were dinky. No operator was available. No messages can be left on their answering service.

This smells like a scam.
