Phone call stating that they are from Microsoft and that the computer has been hacked. They were "contracted out" to solve the issue. Looked them up on ScamPulse.com and they get an "F" for scamming customers into sending them money to fix a problem the customer does not have. They ask for access to your computer so that they can "fix" the problem. They plant infected files into to the computer. Do not open anything and get your computer fixed asap.

They called and told my husband that they worked with Microsoft in network security, and that they had noticed that some scammers had hacked our computer. They asked him to turn on our computer so that they could fix the problem. He did and they downloaded all kinds of viruses and even programing so they could get into it any time they wanted. I was not home when my husband got the call, and they were already in our computer when I got home. We told them whatever they wanted to hear until we could get them out of our computer so we could shut it down so I could get it to our computer repair man. He has had to remove everything and reprogram our computer. The scammers send us invoices weekly, which we are not going to pay. We still don’t know the cost of repairing all the damage they did to our computer. Thankfully we had not had the computer very long so there was nothing on the computer yet worth steeling.
