Contacted “Richmond” about dachshund puppies he was giving away.. He told me his son was breeder who died of terminal cancer & needed to get rid of the puppies. We agreed the puppy would be shipped for $330. Then I received phone calls that I need to pay $980 refundable insurance. More for interstate vaccines. Then another $440 because the puppy was not up to date on its vaccinations.. then I was told the puppy will be delivered at 9 am prompt this morning. Ive called the number & no answer.
I was about to be scammed, until I looked it up and came across the company name. It said they were a high alert for scamming. So, I looked at bbb and there was a couple that just got scammed in July. Thanks to them, I was not the next victim.

I contacted a woman about a dog she had for sale from the local craigslist, she replied and had me answer a bunch of questions, we communicated via email for a while. She told me that her son was a breeder and had died from long term cancer. We spoke and decided to buy the dog, at which point she informed me we could have the dog as long as we promised to send picture updates of the dog. We then found out that she was actually in Maryland and asked if we could come pick the dog up in person. Then she offered to have the dog shipped through this courier service for $320. From this point we stared getting emails from the "shipping company". Everything seemed legitimate until they said we needed to put down a $680 refundable insurance deposit. Skeptical but we still made the zelle transaction. At this point we still had no idea where the dog was but they finally sent us a tracking number which we put into their site and showed us the the dog was on the plane and on her way. We were told she would arrive to us at 9 am the following morning. At 11 am we got another email about a $480 county licesnce fee. At this point, and eve last night really, we knew it was a scam. Be very careful getting prs online.
