I was playing a game on my phone and started seeing the add for a pre order for a new Dyson vacuum. I tried to search to see if it was a scam and there was nothing I could find about it being a scam. I purchased one for $98. They said if they didn’t deliver by February they would deliver two vacuums. I just wish that there was some way to make people whole after this scam.
I ordered the Dyson pre-order too and it’s obvious now it was a scam. I’m really disappointed as I love Dyson sweepers. I saw this same ad a couple months later so he must have been snagging enough people to make it worth his while. Unfortunately Dyson didn’t put something out that it wasn’t theirs. It sure looked real.
I ordered using PayPal Pal to pay $97. As soon as I realized there was a 7 month wait I tried to cancel & notified Pay Pal. Pay Pal denied claim & now I am out $97 , 7 months latter. Here is a copy of the email I received from “Dyson”. Who can I contact to get my money back,
Ordered the Dyson on a pre-order promotion. Said could take up to 7 months to receive but if it didn’t arrive in the timeframe a full refund would be made. When I went to follow up calling the UK number they provided it wasn’t working. I paid with PayPal, and it’s their policy not to refund after 180 days of the purchase so no help there. I don’t remember exactly how I came across the offer but it was on line for sure. I will never buy anything on line again without first researching if it’s a scam. Would seem to me that PayPal would have known it wasn’t legit when they transferred the funds…because couldn’t have gone to Dyson.

It was an ad using Dyson’s name stating that they were seeking 2000 people to review their new vacuum. It was marketed as Dyson’s pre order exclusive. They are offering you their latest vacuum @ 90% off, with the caviate that you need to review the product. If you look online, there were some news articles about the very opportunity.
Unfortunately I just realized I never received the vacuum after going through my pictures and saw the receipt !

Unfortunately, when I paid, the payment went to this email address.. [email protected] I knew in that moment that this was fraudulent. The website looked legit, it was set up like Dyson’s website.
I then immediately filed a claim with PayPal and started to search the web for this scam. I did find through the king.com community that someone else had reported this fraudulent ad on 7/23 and then again on 7/27. King.com did not investigate, nor did they remove the ad. I am filing this complaint in hopes that you can get king.com to remove the ad and make them reveiw their advertisement vetting process. Also, make it easier to report a scam ad. I still can’t find the right place within the king.com help center to report bad ads.
