Type of a scam Government Grant

I got an IM through Facebook from an old friend. She said she got a Federal government grant for seniors. She says it’s not a scam. She gave me a link to Elfie Anderson. I filled out the application over the phone. Elfie told me to buy 2 eBay or iTune gift cards for $200 each from Walmart, Walgreens or Kroger. She didn’t tell me how much I was getting. I talked to her on the phone. She sounds African American. I was on the phone with her when Elfie tried to deposit $200 inot my Cash App account, but couldn’t do it. She says it’s not a scam, but ScamPulse.com says it is. I told Elfie ScamPulse.com says it’s a scam. Elfie says it’s not. I am very confused.

I got an IM from my aunt. She said she got a $40,000 check. She said she paid $740 to have the check delivered. She said she opened a new account with Chase, and was able to withdraw the money that day. She told me to call John Harlan at 225-443-2537. I took a picture of my driver’s license and sent it to him. He asked how much I got from Social Security. They asked for $500 to deliver the check. My aunt then said she was getting a new phone and wouldn’t be on Messenger anymore.
