Type of a scam Online Purchase
I believe I was scammed by a company posing as a legitimate Fitbit seller. Upon searching google for Fitbit, I clicked one of the top links to get directed to a website. This site was fitbitactivity.us which now no longer works. It looked very closely to what the normal Fitbit site looks like. I made a purchase with Paypal on this site for a Fitbit watch for $140. Upon purchase I received a confirmation via a Shopify account and my Paypal receipt. On this receipt it listed under the company name, Fitbit Seller, [email protected] After about a week of waiting to hear about my product being shipped, I followed up with Paypal to dispute this purchase since at that point, I believed I was scammed. Paypal followed up with shipping details for the alleged product, which showed as delivered. 1. I never received the shipping details and 2. I work from home and am always home and no package was delivered. Next, I followed up with UPS, which was the shipping carrier. Over the phone, I confirmed my shipping address and the associate notified me that the shipping address did not match and was in fact allegedly "delivered" to a local Chicago Walmart. Additionally, UPS confirmed that the seller company was Strategic Distribution LP. From what I can find online, this company is a Uniforms provider and does not sell Fitbit.
