I have gotten calls from a man named Charles, and in a later call identified himself as David, who had an Indian accent claiming that I had signed up with a computer service last July that is now closing and they owe me a $500 refund. He explained that I had to disconnect my computer from their service in order to get the money. I looked at my bank records and I did not put out $500 to a tech company to repair my system. I asked him to clarify that I am the person he is trying to reach and he had my address and email, which anyone can get offline.
I requested a hard copy or letter to explain what he was talking about and he said he will send me an email – which hasn’t shown up.
I have his phone number as 1-424-226-0569 and i looked it up online and its coming from a company called Xo California. I am going to wait and see if he tries to contact me again.
