The caller says he is a rep of the US govt and they have $9,000, or $41,000 , or $7,000 to give us. They say we were randomly selected. (Obviously, they take their tips from our tv shows and lottery games.) They do not understand our culture or cultural history.They ask us to go to WalMart or CVS Pharmacy and buy a card for $200, and they will transfer the money. Another control technique is to shout at us, "Listen to Me!"
They simply took one step over from using our bank debit card, but it is the same principle. Why would we give this information to a stranger, a voice on a telephone?
