Type of a scam Credit Cards
I had to drive down South to pick my student up from college; had to fill-up half way. When I pulled up to the Self serve pump, the debit card ATM access was covered with a piece of paper stating that the system was down; go inside to pay. There was a $0.10 difference in payment method (cash vs. credit). I had to hand over my debit card to which the owner stated ‘oh, a credit card.’ I said, ‘no, a debit card.’ He, ‘oh, okay; go ahead and fill up.’ I had to go back inside to retrieve my card where he swiped it through the ATM on the counter facing me and told me to enter my pin. Not until after leaving did I notice that he charged me the credit card cost. It thought to myself, ‘okay, if he feels good to have taken me for $1.40, so be it. I just want to get to my destination.’ But then again, he’s doing this to everyone who frequents his business; adds up! I don’t believe the system was down at all. Why at the pumps yet not inside?
