Type of a scam COVID-19

These people hacked one of my friends Facebook messenger telling me that I qualified for a Covid-19 grant. It was a special grant only certain people qualified for on top of the government stimulus. They gave me a number to call and a man with an ascent answered and said he was an agent with the government, and that i qualified for a $100,000 grant, and tried to get me to go get gift cards. I hung up.

Type of a scam COVID-19

I got a call from a woman with a heavy foreign accent and she claimed because of Covid-19, the government was paying off the credit cards of seniors and she asked for my credit card number and SS#. I asked who they were and the lady handed the phone to a man, also with a foreign accent, who she said was her supervisor. This man said he was "agent smith" with the government. I hung up the phone. They called back 4 times from that number then started calling form other numbers with different area codes. I have stopped answering the phone. This is a scam.

Type of a scam Government Grant

The scam came through FB messenger. A "friend" sent the link to go to. I filled out a form that asked for personal info. I gave them name, address, phone number, driver’s license info, make and model of car, mother’s maiden name, etc. and was called by "William Barr, US AG."

The government wants to give money to spend to buy a home, raise children, pay off bills, go to school, etc. I was told to pay a fee upfront and the amount of the grant would depend on how big a fee was. Grants ranged from $50,000 – $300,000. I was told to put the fee money in cash in a padded envelope and take it to Fedex.

He gave a Suntrust routing number and account number to send the fee to. I called Suntrust bank and they couldn’t find the account number he gave routing number 061000104 and account number 1000213637365.

Type of a scam Government Grant

I saw something on Facebook about a Covid-19 grant for seniors. I clicked on it and was immediately messaged by someone claiming to be the "u.s emergency grants federation" they said they were part of the U.S government and were offering government grants for the emergency. They wanted my personal information to see if i qualified. This is a scam. i gave them a fake S.S number and guess what…i qualified. All i had to do was pay a small amount for processing and tax and i would get my money. This is a scam and they need to be stopped.
